I’ve been asked what advice I have for people who have bought a new car. Not buying advice but owning advice. So, I put together a quick list of things to remember as a new car owner.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Meanwhile, I’ve had the domain name !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for 19 years now. Yesterday, I got the first complaint about how I have my email address/contact info hidden.
See if you can find my email in there - kind of like Where’s Waldo.
Apparently, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for having my website configured in such a way that it confuses one visitor every 19 years. (Apparently, users of iPads cannot just click on that email address and have things happen for them as easily as users of other browsers.)
Can’t please everyone. (By the way, my email is Lehto@kennon.com.It’s in the pic, in blue.)
Follow me on Twitter: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
Hear my podcast on iTunes: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
Steve Lehto has been practicing law for 23 years, almost exclusively in consumer protection and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! He wrote !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
This website may supply general information about the law but it is for informational purposes only. This does not create an attorney-client relationship and is not meant to constitute legal advice, so the good news is we’re not billing you by the hour for reading this. The bad news is that you shouldn’t act upon any of the information without consulting a qualified professional attorney who will, probably, bill you by the hour.

People suck at UX.

I suspect the guy is an “seo optimizer” who wants me to hire him to “fix” my website.

Your site is easy to navigate and everything is where it should be.

Thanks. All the people of the world who are not trying to sell SEO-Optimization to me think so too.

is it really so hard to remember lehto@kennon.com? and to type it into a new email? First World Problem or what?
Guy probably hates lawyers.

Or he hates the fact that I won’t hire him to “fix” my site.

Unrelated: This weekend is a long weekend in Canada. In ontario this usually means people go to cottage and stuff. I am saving my money for a vacation this year so I’ll be around. (3,000 mile road trip in riced out Cavalier? Yes.) I am going to research and write a draft on the changes to ontario traffic tickets. I would be honoured if you proof read it.
I understand that you practice different laws in a different country so I am not really looking for legal advice but rather just for clarity and conciseness. Articles I spend a lot of time on never seem to do well around here.
Let me know if that’d be alright and where I could send it to.
Best

Send it to my email. It is hidden in the picture above but I’ll make it easy for you: Lehto@kennon.com
And I’d be happy to read it and offer my advice/help.

Indeed as someone who pays for his cars with a UX Job it’s a great, forward website for what you’re trying to do.

Not only could I not find your email address, I couldn’t find your name. Then I put my glasses on. Still looking for Waldo, however. Very tricky, indeed. Liked the piece, though some of the advice has me despairing. So much of “consumer protection” is just consumers taking the time, effort and thought to do really simple things - like changing oil or keeping receipts or reading contracts. It’s the laziness we’re all prone to that makes it easier for the fraudsters and bottom feeders to ply their trade. Love your podcasts and articles. There’s no cure for stupidity, but education cures ignorance. Keep on being an educator, Steve.
